A Night at the Museum – This family-friendly event allows participants to explore some of San Jose’s most popular history museums without having to pay admission. The event takes place on a Friday night during the summer months (June – August) so it doesn’t interfere with school night or work night curfews! Exploration stops around 9:00 pm and groups are encouraged to relocate to a restaurant for dinner after exploring downtown San Jose.
Silicon Valley Jazz Festival – This annual two-day event showcases performances by jazz musicians from around the world and also includes activities like wine tasting, face painting for kids, food stalls, and more. The event is held on a Saturday & Sunday in October during the San Jose Jazz Winter Fest.
San Jose Holiday Boutique – This fundraiser is hosted at the McEnery Convention Center each year and helps raise funds to provide homeless families with necessary resources for success. Over 100 vendors are on site selling various items (clothing, jewelry, art) as well as offering free health screenings and information about local resources available to those experiencing homelessness or poverty.
San Jose Earth Fair – This year’s Earth Day event is expected to be even bigger than last year and will include a sustainability expo, food trucks, live music, art displays and more! The event is always free of charge and helps raise awareness about environmental issues as well as the importance of recycling.
Additionally there are several other annual events held throughout the year that help raise awareness and funds to prevent homelessness. The events below usually take place in the downtown district or at History Park.
Music In Parks – This series of free outdoor concerts is held every Thursday night from June – August (a total of 14 weeks) and is a family-friendly event with food and drink available for purchase as well as activities like face painting for kids.
